Carrizo Commons is an organization of community groups, environmental and resource entities, schools, businesses, and people, who share an interest and commitment in protecting and conserving the Carrizo Plain. We believe in information and education, that if people visit and experience the Carrizo, learn about its natural history, and come to know the Carrizo they will want to see it saved and will support responsible stewardship of the Carrizo.

We sponsor docent led tours and field trips to the Carrizo, supply speakers to provide programs at schools and community groups, operate volunteer clean up days, publish a periodic electronic newsletter distributed to our members, partners, friends, and donors around California and the United States, and promote connections, liaison and collaboration between the many state, federal, and local governments, conservation organizations, and the public on issues affecting the Carrizo.
